As Indonesia is now experiencing a rapid influx of people looking to cash in on the growing number of professional Divemasters looking to take the next step. The PADI IDC Indonesia with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod can be seen as the most consistent leaning experience available within the diving industry. Consistency, Professionality, Experience are the primary hallmarks of quality training and its unclear whether these parameters can be met by a travelling Course Director. When asked about the potential of exploring instructor training opportunities in other parts of Indonesia, Platinum PADI Course Director Holly simply stated...

“Having already developed one of the best possible program schedules available and being in a perfect training environment I feel that changing locations and logistics will only come at the expense of those I am trying to educate.”

The program is fully conducted by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, who has won multiple awards for the quality of instructor training that she provides to her candidates and for her overall commitment to the diving industry and for the sheer number of instructor level certifications issued. Having previously certified hundreds of PADI Instructors, candidates are safe in the knowledge that Holly has the experience and expertise to guide them into a new career by supplying the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed within the industry. The All New PADI Advanced Open Water Course | PADI IDC Indonesia with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holy Macleod

Although already integrated into the PADI IDC with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, the new PADI Advanced Course is due to be unveiled in September 2016.

On the Instructor Development Course (IDC), candidates will get an intensive introduction to the new Advanced Course as well as also covering the current program. For all current instructors it is important to know what the difference is. The new course is not exactly a complete replacement for the Adventures in Diving Program, but more of an overhaul and addresses many of the current negatives of the program.

Generally, it seems that the overhaul is designed to improve the integration and crossover between the PADI Advanced Course and the Specialty Diver Course. The first dive of any standardized PADI Specialty Diver Course is now the same as the Adventure Dive. There is also a “Think like a Diver” component of the course which concentrates on developing and installing self-management aspects of diving

·         Updated Course Material

Students will now have the option of a paper manual or digital. Digital products will now include a mobile-friendly PADI Advanced Open Water Diver digital products and app allowing them to use them with personal devices such as a mobile phone. Standards updates have been integrated into the Guide to Teaching and Instructor Manual which are both available online.

·         Some Adventure Dive have been overhauled

PADI Underwater Photography Adventure Dive and PADI Underwater Videography Adventure Dive, has been replaced with the PADI Digital Underwater Imaging Adventure Dive. This Adventure Dive can also be accredited to the Dive 1 of the Digital Imaging Specialty or the Digital Underwater Photography Specialty.

·         Some Adventure Dive have been added to the Advanced Course

There are a range of new Adventure Dives previously not available such as Sidemount, Ice, Cavern, Full Face Mask, Self-Reliant, Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) and Rebreather Adventure Dives. These Adventure Dives are also accredited to the corresponding Specialty and also gives instructors more flexibility and creativeness within their courses gives students more choices, the chance to learn about areas of personal diving interests and the ability to learn different aspects of diving. All of the Project AWARE Specialties are now available as Adventure Dives including Dive Against Debris™, and Shark Conservation Specialty courses

·         “Think like a Diver” philosophy

The “Think like a Diver” philosophy is now implemented within the structure of the course, designed to encourage dives to think about what they are doing at all time before, during and after the dive and learn more about managing their own risk management, buddy contact, gas consumption and awareness.

Of course if you are about to take the PADI IDC Indonesia with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod the new course is already implemented into her PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). If not Instructor will need to download the updates from PADI online and work outs best in their local environments. Many of the PADI IDC Indonesia workshops are stuctured in a way to assist new instructors when starting out and this is why currently both courses are being presented during the instructor training sessions. Check out the schedule for up and coming IDC programs.

“Elite 300” Again 2016 | PADI Course Director Holly Macleod | PADI IDC Indonesia | Gili Islands

A massive congratulations to Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod on the PADI IDC Gili Islands program, who has once again been awarded the “Elite 300” PADI Instructor Status for 2016.

The Elite Instructor Award is a relatively new program recognizes PADI Instructors for reaching specific milestones based on the number of divers certified annually. To be recognized as an Elite Instructor, an Instructor must be a renewed PADI Pro with a minimum rating of Open Water Scuba Instructor, with no verified Quality Management violations within 12 months of the date the award is presented, and issue  either 50, 100, 150, 200 or 300 qualifying certifications in a calendar year.
During 2015 Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod issued nearly 500 Instructor level certifications which has earned her the “Elite 300” PADI Status as 300 is the highest award available within the program. 2016 also sees Holly once again earning the PADI “Platinum” Status Award for her overall professionalism and commitment to Instructor training. The program itself has also previously won the “Commitment to Instructor Development Award” recognising its pure professionalism and popularity.

The course takes place every month at Trawangan Dive which was the first ever PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in Lombok and the Gili Islands. Today Trawangan Dive remains the only PADI CDC Center in Gili Trawangan, Indonesia and is one of the largest dive centers on the island. Instructor candidates can expect to find world class facilities including instructor training classroom facilities, 2 swimming pools, beachside restaurant and bar and a dedicated Instructor training boat. Purpose built Open Water training sites are situated only a stone’s throw away and accessed with the boat which departs from the beach directly outside Trawangan Dive.

The Gili Islands provide a fantastic start for a new career within diving as they are an increasing popular tourist destination for people of all ages and all warps of life. Dive centers tend to be very busy and there are always entry level programs taking place meaning there is a wealth of experience to be obtained in a relatively short amount of time for new Instructors.

The program is entirely conducted by Holly, who has specifically designed the program to train Instructors beyond the level generally expected within the industry allowing graduates to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide quality programs to their future students in a fun and safe manner. The program runs on an 11 day schedule with an additional 5 days of pre-IDC preparation workshops. The pre-IDC preparation workshops general review the theory, skills and knowledge from the Divemaster Program and allows candidates to make a smooth transition into the Instructor program. The Instructor Development Course (IDC) covers all of the core elements from the PADI IDC syllabus as you will find on any IDC program, however Holly has designed specific additional workshops designed to assist candidate’s entry into the industry by providing additional skills, knowledge and tips only acquired from an experienced Instructor trainer.

To find out more about the program it is recommended that potential candidates take a look at the PADI IDC Gili Islands Wall on Facebook, which includes all of the latest new and updates as well as a collection of photographs of past, current and future courses. Another suggestion is to check out the PADI IDC Indonesia YouTube channel to see previous candidates in action during their experience.
